In the Medina
In October 2019 I spent a week in and around Marrakech in the Kingdom of Morocco. It is a magical place to bring a camera.
Most images were “shot from the hip” — that is, due to local sensibilities, I seldom raised the camera to my eye, lest people become uncomfortable. This means many of these photos aren’t framed exactly as I would have wished, but I think they have a spontaneity and authenticity that I’m pleased with.
All images Leica M10 with the old (1980s) 35mm Summicron. I used the old Summicron because it is very small and discrete, and while some of the images are a little soft, this old lens creates a special glow…
